Old Colcestrians to Start for Cambridge at Twickenham
Posted On: 28/11/17
Two members of the Old Colcestrian Society have been selected to represent Cambridge in the Varsity Matches at Twickenham on Thursday 7th December. Matt Watson, who was CRGS School Captain 2015-16 and a highly successful 1st XV player, is starting at No 6 for the men’s team. Sophie Farrant, who left CRGS in 2013, is starting on the wing for the women’s team.
Sophie is in her fifth year studying veterinary medicine at Emmanuel College. She began playing rugby while in Year 12 at CRGS. This is her third year in the Cambridge women’s team at Twickenham, having the distinction of being awarded Cambridge blues in 2015 and 2016.
Matt, a Northampton Saints Academy player while at school, is a second year medical student at Corpus Christi. He will also be demonstrating his skills for the CRGS Headmaster’s XV against the Old Colcestrian Society President’s XV at CRGS on Saturday 16th December. As neither school nor society has yet reached the point where we can field women’s rugby teams, Sophie will be making an appearance in the CRGS vs OCS netball match on the 16th!
We wish them both the very best of luck!
