Drama
Drama is a very popular extra-curricular activity, although sadly we are not currently in a position to offer formal, taught courses in Drama and Theatre Studies. Major school productions take place each year involving forty or fifty students on stage and behind the scenes. Recent projects include Amadeus, Romeo and Juliet and Much Ado About Nothing; Too Fast for NT Connections, Doctor Faustus and The Coast of Utopia: Voyage. There have also been Sixth Form productions of plays by students and by Oscar Wilde, Terry Pratchett and Alan Bennett, and junior pupils have staged Julius Caesar and Treasure Island. We have recently acquired professional-standard modular staging and lighting thanks to a very generous bequest in memory of the late Steven Pimlott, renowned theatre, opera and musical director.
