Award-winning historian to visit CRGS

On Thursday 30th April Tom Holland a bestselling and award winning historian and author will be coming into CRGS to give a talk. Tom Holland’s works include Rubicon, Persian Fire, Millennium and In the Shadow of the Sword, looking at topics that vary from the end of the Roman Republic to the crisis of the dark ages. Richard Miles, fellow of Trinity Hall, Cambridge said of Holland’s Rubicon “Next time someone asks me why they should study Roman history, Rubicon will be one of the first books that I shall direct them to”.
After his talk Tom Holland will give a half hour Q&A with selected students discussing the issues raised in his talk. This event will take place in the Hall at lunch and will be of interest to any with an interest in History, Classics or Religious Studies.
